Chico Council Approves Funds for Sober Center
The Chico City Council voted 7-0 to partner with Butte Behavioral Health in funding the new sobering center. The funds will come from the opioid settlement funds, and the city will provide $375,000 for the first three years. Butte Behavioral Director, Scott Kennelly told the council that Butte Behavioral is still discussing funding with the City of Oroville and with the county but could expect the sobering center to open no later than August.
